Your self-doubt is going to eat you alive. Your heart is going to physically ache. You’re going to feel like you have crumbled to the floor, and maybe you actually will, but that will be necessary. Sometimes you need to be torn apart to build back up, stronger than ever. In your moment of weakness, however long that moment may last, make sure you accept it. Revel in the sadness and let it consume you, for you can only experience the highest highs if you have first encountered the lowest lows. Let yourself be vulnerable. Cry it out. Get angry. Don’t be frightened by your emotions. Don’t feel ashamed to let others see your anger and your hurt. It’s going to be bad for a while. You’re going to feel like your world is falling apart. You’re going to feel like you’re losing your best friend. You’re really going to genuinely miss that person. Then, you’re going to be awakened by the truth. You weren’t meant to live in that world with that person. No matter how perfect it seemed, it wasn’t right for you. Your lives are headed in different directions. That chapter in your life has ended. Time to move on. You’ll be sick of feeling angry and sad. Quite frankly, you won’t have many tears left to cry. You’ll realize that it’s time to start anew. You’ve let the sadness take ahold of you long enough and now its time to shed that weight. You are now able to take a deep breath because you’ve realized that your heart is capable of loving another human being so much. Imagine the love you could give to the right person. You are now aware of how capable your body is of feeling emotion. This is your moment of empowerment. This is when you will start to rebuild. You will do so by focusing on every positive aspect of yourself. You will start looking at others for encouragement and you will soak in their positivity. You will start to laugh and maybe you’ll cry when you do so because you’ll remember how good your body feels when it experiences joy. Keep laughing. Keep absorbing the good in everything around you, whether it be a child smiling, immersing yourself in nature, or doing that thing that you used to do that you’ve always loved but stopped doing. Do it! Reconnect with the world. Enjoy yourself. Be a friend to you. Take yourself out on a date. Buy yourself flowers. This is when you really get to know yourself. You’re not lonely, you’re growing. Give yourself time to do so. Be kind to yourself and sensitive to your own emotions. Get comfortable in your own skin. You will start to feel whole again. Others will start to notice. The light that you once had to borrow from others will now be seen in yourself. You are now a force to be reckoned with. You will understand that you are worthy of giving and accepting love. You will never settle.
