Have a passion? Make it concrete.
Write your ideas on paper.
If you’re a daydreamer, start jotting your thoughts down in a notebook. Big or small, your ideas build the foundation to your future. No matter how scattered your thoughts and ideas are in your notebook, you’ve released them from your mind, giving yourself a clearer conscious. It’s also fun to reflect on past ideas. You’ll enjoy having physical proof of your personal growth through the years.
Form a timeline.
If along the way you come up with some really great ideas and want to turn them into a reality, it’s time to create a plan. Build a realistic timeline of when you can accomplish each mini goal, resulting in a completion of a major goal. Creating a concise plan will ultimately organize your once scattered thoughts.
Think of possible resources.
Try not to wear yourself thin by doing everything yourself. If your timeline becomes too stressful, you’ll only get exhausted of your ideas and fall out of love with them. If you can, delegate some “work” to anyone willing to help you out. There are things and people designed to help you become successful, that’s why they are called resources. Use them!
Put yourself out there!
Not only is this the most important step of all, it should become your daily mantra! There is no time to be afraid of what someone might say or do. The truth is, some people won’t like your ideas. Don’t let this discourage you! The “no’s” could redirect you to something even greater than you had in mind. You must keep an open mind and have confidence in yourself and your ideas. Start networking and getting involved with your community. Show the world who you are! Networking will connect you to others in your area of interest. You’ll engage with people who have either been in your shoes and can give you helpful tips or you’ll meet people who are just starting out, who might be just as nervous as you - respect their journeys. You’ll gain access to even more resources to help you achieve your success. You might even meet some great friends along the way! You must not fear vulnerability at this point. You have the power to inspire and motivate someone else.
Find ways to make you and your ideas stand out. You have to be able to offer something that someone in your same position, can’t. If you stay true to your unique self, someone is going to notice!
The drive to turn your dreams into fruition should only grow as you get closer to achieving them. If you’re excited about your plans, you’re on the right path. If you get tired of them or nothing seems to be going right, then it might be time to go back to the drawing board. Get out your notebook and keep on keepin’ on! You might repeat these steps over and over until you get it right. Don’t give up - Rome wasn’t built in a day! If you’re passionate about something, it’s your calling. Don’t let it slip away!
